Remember Amelia Radley? I don't blame you if you don't. I'd envisioned this sheltered young lady's world turning upside down when a corrupt official frames her father for a crime he didn't commit, and an aging Captain Jack Sparrow on a quest to regain his former glory is the only person who can help her. Jack would act as a sort of mentor to Amelia, and she would gently help him to realize that he's no longer the man he once was. The fic would end with him dying in a suitably dignified fashion.
Why didn't I write it? Because I'm not sure Jack Sparrow is the right character for this kind of story, and even if he is, I don't trust myself to write him in-character.
