I'm surprised "Beverley" was so popular in the 1920s, as I've never thought of it as a popular name at all (in fact the only one I've encountered was Beverley Aadland, and that was much later).

I've never seen 'Alison' spelt with two Ls, either, let alone thought of that as a stereotypical girl's name.

Ada, Emma and Eva are very 'period', though.
